It sounds like a great choice. The 2nd one seems to give the opportunity for you to showcase humor and if you can do a nice, flattering South American accent. Together they both seem to have a nice range (classic and modern). Break a leg!
I think that monologue is a bit over done. I am auditioning for a bunch of schools too in a couple of weeks and some of them specifically ask not to do anything from star spangled girl. However you are cutting it close and you should stick with what you are most comfortable with. I think that if you do it properly and make strong unique choices you can bring something new to the peice. Good luck, and remember, just have fun with it =]
Have you read the plays for both? No? DO THAT ASAP. There’s a lot more you can get out of a monologue by doing that.
Also- I’m betting I used your exact second monologue to audition for my high school drama class. When I was 13.
You maaaay wanna change it.
